Sometimes God communicates through repetition in our dreams, visions, and impressions. In this episode, we explore how noticing recurring themes and symbols can reveal His timing, guidance, and the bigger picture He wants us to see.
Have you noticed have you noticed any patterns lately in your dreams or visions? Any recurring themes, symbols, or even the same feeling showing up over time? God often speaks in repetition. So when so we pay attention not just to one moment, not just to one moment. God often speaks in repetition. So we pay attention. Not just to one moment, but to the bigger picture. Let's look at Joseph as an example. In Genesis 37, he shared these dreams with his brothers. Now Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him even more. He said, Hear this dream that I have dreamed. We were binding sheaves in the field, and suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright. Then your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it. His brothers were upset. They said, Are you really going to reign over us or rule over us? And they hated him even more for his words. Then Joseph had another dream. He said, I had dreamed, I had another dream. This time the sun, the moon, and eleven stars were bowing down to me. Different images, but the same message. God was showing Joseph something important about his future. The repetition helped emphasize it. It wasn't random. Later, Joseph interpreted Pharaoh's dreams. Pharaoh had two separate dreams, and Joseph explained, This is what God has shown to Pharaoh, what he was about to do. God has revealed to him twice. Again, repetition was key. God was emphasizing his plan and revealing important information through these repeated dreams. God often reveals things through repetition, through dreams, visions, and impressions. Patterns help us recognize seasons. Patterns help us recognize seasons in our lives. Identify areas God wants to work on in us, and discern his direction and timing. The focus is on the macro. Look at the bigger picture. Look at the bigger picture, not just one moment. When you notice repetition, pause and reflect. What themes or symbols keep appearing? Are the same people's settings or feelings reoccurring? Why? What might God be showing about this season in your life? Write these things down, and over time clarity emerges. Zoom out, look at the bigger picture, notice the patterns, notice the patterns. Ask God what He's showing you over time. Because repetition is rare rarely because repetition is rarely random. Later, Joseph interpreted Pharaoh's dreams. Pharaoh had two separate dreams, one about seven healthy cows being eaten by seven thin cows, and another about seven full heads of grain being swallowed by seven thin heads. Joseph explained, this is what God has shown to Pharaoh, what he is about to do. God has revealed to him twice. These dreams weren't just strange visions. They were a warning and a plan from God. They predicted seven years of plenty followed by seven years of famine. They predicted seven years of plenty followed by seven years of famine. The repetition emphasized the importance and urgency of the message preparing Pharaoh to take action. God often reveals things through repetition, through dreams, visions, and impressions.
